singing my heart out....

after sekian lama tuning in to ERA and HitzFM since they start airing in Miri last month, I got tired of listening to adverts and the same current hits songs over and over again....so I revert back to the old faithful MuzikFM by RTM.....best tau channel ni....DJ dia tak buat lawak spastik macam Din Beramboi (walaupun saya gelak sambil pening jugak dengan lawak dia) and diorang takdela segmen kantoikan pendengar macam 'Gotcha' dan 'Panggilan Hangit' yang after a while, I think is so cliche, and I wouldn't like to be the butt of somebody's joke / prank call.

so I tuned in back to MuzikFM....feels so refreshing to listen to the songs, they have a mix of English (maybe around 25% of the playlist) and Malay songs....dan yang bestnya...diorang main lagu retro dan juga terkini...
sangat sesuai untuk melayan perasaan (hehehe, itulah motif sebenarnya).

so, guess what song made me smile and sang all the way from carpark to my desk?
huhu...lagu jiwang abad yang lepas song of the century bak kata Miss E....the ultimate....

Cinta Di Akhir Garisan

Cabaran penuh liku
lazimnya kan berlalu
bila cinta bersatu

Buang segala prasangka
yang datang tanpa rela
diatasi segera

Belum bersemi adanya sangsi
inilah nyatanya
walaupun pedih menguris tabah
harus kita fikirkan

Cinta sebenar ( naluri )
ada sabar ( serasi )
tiada getar luahkanlah hatimu
inilah buktinya
cinta yang diakhir garisan

Setelah dengan ikhlas
memberi tanpa balas
usah diam membisu
kau curi pintu hati
kau buka dengan janji
keikhlasan ku nanti

Jangan memendam luahan rasa
curahkan semua
disitu kau dapat rasakan
kebenaran menyala

Walaupun kau masih mencari cinta
jika kau berdusta kata
hancurlah segalanya
hatimu yang bersinar mencurah rasa
terima semuanya
dirimu yang punca bahagia

huhuhu...why do I sound like a lovefool lately?

Random - Aku Seekor Kaldai

I feel like a mule, being asked to work, while somebody dangle a nice juicy apple in front of me. Since us mules are not really known for our intelligence, go figure. Anyway, I'm a skeptical mule with a behaviour problem.

I am sleep deprived. My house is in a mess. I spent too much time out of home and when I'm at home, guess what? I sleep and do nothing.

I hope serendipity will happen every day. ~Sigh

I figured out that by planning my journey (especially to a new country, just a rough one will do), it helps calm my anxiety a lot. I've been stranded before, and it's no fun. If you have the time, plan. That way, you also get the most out of your money and your time.

My calendar is quite packed from March-July. I'll be having plans every alternate weekends (sometimes consecutive), with some allowance of time in Miri to clean the house ;P. Nak selitkan masa untuk kenduri majlis pertunangan / pernikahan / persandingan pun tak sempat. So, kalau ada yang nak masuk meminang, time cuti Raya adalah masa paling sesuai dalam jangkamasa terdekat ini. Nak kahwin terus pun takpe, sebab saya dah beli tiket gi Krabi bulan Oktober. Boleh terus gi honeymoon.

Oh, lupa nak cakap....sebelum tu saya dan orang itu kena berjumpa / terjumpa / dijumpai dan jatuh cinta dulu. I wonder how is that going to happen with my hectic March-July calendar. Ahaks ahaks. Di mana kamu sih?

Itu jela...nak balik rumah. Maggi saya sudah kembang.

gambar selingan - the queen and her lowly servants..hehehe

oleh sebab queen tu jahat, gorilla je yg nak jadi pakwe dia...huhu, tetapi mereka bahagia bersama

In the mood to write pantuns

kalau sudah langkah sederap
langkah kita langkah bermakna
kalau sudah cakap sesedap
cakap kita bercakap suka

langkah kita langkah bermakna
tidak seiring rentak pedati
cakap kita bercakap suka
tidak seiring rahsia hati

tidak seiring rentak pedati
mundar mandir di pohon jati
tidak seiring rahsia hati
mengharap takdir Rabbul 'Izzati

mundar mandir di pohon jati
bukan mangga bukan cempedak
hendak berbuah tiada bertempat
harus dibaja atas penara
mengharap takdir Rabbul 'Izzati
entah iya entahkan tidak
hendak meluah tiada kusempat
harusku bawa sampai pusara.

*mode: sewel...(tapi sikit aje...hehe)

I'm a MARKED woman

Huhu…kena tag oleh Miss E (*tag = tanda = mark)
I should really be working now, but my mind needs a break while it’s storming on ideas of how to best present a set of data without raising too many unnecessary questions… daymm….

5 things I'm thankful at..

1. my life, regardless how bleak it is at times, there’s always a silver lining
2. family and friends
3. a cool head on my shoulder – in most situation, I think I’m quite rational and optimistic
4. a good income that enables me to contribute more to my family, travel, eat and shop
5. my 4-wheeler which I bought at such a great deal!

5 things I regretted about..

There are a number of things in the past that I wished would have a different outcome or where I should have reacted differently to, however, there’s no point in regretting. Things that we’ve gone through in our lives shaped what we are now.

5 alive celebrities I wanted to meet..

Not really. I will feel awkward I guess if I ever meet them….but then, maybe:

1. Umie Aida
2. Giulliana & Bill Rancic
3. David Cook
4. Gerard Butler
5. Beyonce

5 places i wanted to go..

I don’t have particular places that I REALLY want to go. It all depends on timing, mood, money and which route is on sale. There’s a lot of interesting places to be discovered in this world.

5 childhood memories..

1. kecik-kecik dah pandai bercinta…ish ish ish
2. contemplating to run away from home everytime after kena marah dengan my mom, and start counting how many days I can survive with RM2 and eating 20 sen keropok.
3. we moved a lot, and once we stayed in a rural area with no road access..kena naik express boat je…the first house that my parents bought has a really big compound and a lot of trees…my late grandpa built us swings on those trees, it was so much fun running/cycling/swinging/climbing around…
4. annual trip back to Limbang on Royal Brunei Airlines…then downgrade to road trips on a very muddy/bad Kuching –Miri road which was still in construction, fortunately, the road gets better and no more queues at the ferries (1 in Sibu, 1 in Miri, 1 in Kuala Belait and 1 in Tedungan), which was horrible
5. pecah duit tabung masing-masing (including my youngest brother who is eleven years younger than me) to buy our parents’ anniversary gifts. Masa kecik-kecik we can only afford picture frame and cards, then I remember we bought them a comforter set….now it’s jewelleries and vacations…the picture frame from 16 years ago is still sitting in my mom’s office..

And so on and so on…I love my childhood memories.

5 people to continue the tag circle..

1. tengku nurul izza
2. siti yuhanis
3. mirah UM
4. yayee
5. si tukang cakap, kalau dia rajin

the art of dodging...

It’s the month of February. The month of Chinese New Year, heavy rains and love for some people. As for me, I don’t really expect anything interesting to happen on Feb 14th….even when I was in a relationship with a pure romantic, we didn’t make a big deal out of it. Maybe it’s just because I don’t believe in building up expectations…what if he doesn’t remember? I’ll get upset. What if he remembers, but the things he does, doesn’t really impressed me or I just plainly don’t like it? Trouble. With the cost of flowers, chocolates, romantic dinners escalating on this particular day….nah…I couldn’t care much about V-day. Hari-hari lain pun boleh juga berkasih sayang apa. Tapi kalau ada orang rasa macam nak kasik bunga, sila kasik saya coklat Ferrero Rocher yang dah digubah jadi bouquet tu ok. Hihi.

Anyway, this year’s Feb 14th will be a bit different. We’ll have a celebration of love and I’m going back to Kuching for that. Not me la babe, but my younger sister (note:younger). She is getting engaged on that day. I’m really happy for her. Before I would have thought the feelings would be similar to what I feel if a car overtake me at the highway then slow down (like how drivers here always do)…but amazingly not. I’m really glad and happy that she’s going to settle down and somebody else will have to bear with her antics and not us siblings. ;P

But of course, all the makcik-makcik and pakcik-pakcik won’t leave me alone. It’s called society pressure. They belong to a different generation. Instead of upholding the “30’s is the new 20’s” motto, theirs is more to “if you’re not married by 25, you’re a spinster”. I haven’t reached the big three-zero, but I’m certainly past 25. ~Sigh.

Since my parents are inviting quite a number of guests for the engagement ceremony, I am expecting some people to ask me this question:

“Kamu ni bila lagi?”

My dad told me to answer it with “Belum jumpa jodoh”, but I don’t like that answer coz (a) it feels like self pity, which is not what I feel (b) it is not creative enough and (c) it invites a string of other related questions. So I decided to brainstorm for the suitable response to that question. Here are my best picks:

1. Pretend that I didn’t hear the question properly, answer with a polite “Huh, I beg your pardon?” then proceed with asking the person whether he/she has already eaten or not.

2. “Saya sedang menunggu Anuar Zain masuk meminang.” (Fatma, this happens to be my cousin’s favorite answer as well)

3. “Actually, I am the younger sister, my ‘kakak’ is the one getting engaged.” I think I can pull this off, no offense sis, u’re still cute though. **all innocent and starry eyed**

4. “I’m a cougar. My future life partner is still in high school.” Haha. Mesti mengucap panjang orang yang mendengar jawapan ini.

5. “I’m waiting for a guy who has good teeth, same sense of humor as mine, speaks good English, open minded, a good Muslim but not the super-alim one and his mother has to be a bit chubby and kind-hearted. Let me know if you know one.” Ini juga pasti mengundang cemuhan dari orang ramai. They’ll in turn say “Patutla”. But I’m not in love, what’s wrong with having these ideas? I know that when I fell in love, automatically I don’t really care about all these because love is blind. Tsk. Tsk.

6. Gather up a few friends and perform Michael Buble’s “I Just Haven’t Met You Yet” in front of the person who asked. GLEE –style.

7. A simple uncomplicated answer, “I’m enjoying my life. Rileksla makcik.”

However this is what I like best. I was talking to mommy dearest the other day…

Me: Mum, what will you say when people asked you WHY your eldest daughter is still single?

Mum: I’ll just say that you’re weird….oops, I mean, unique.

Thanks, Mum. I love you.
