was at UTP for a Campus Ambassador program yesterday...

dahlah tidur 3 jam je coz had to wake up early to finish the slides...

gerak dari KL about 7.20 after picking up another team member from KL Sentral...2 of us are going to handle the program... okla tu... dia kasik fresh perspective, aku kasik stale perspective (?)... haha

my friend also teman me (ooh thank u so much... dia pun bersabar duduk 3 jam dalam hall itu)
on the way tu, semua org tidor sampai aku pun mengantuk giler time tengah drive... had to make a stop at Hentian Tapah for coffee and donuts

aku tak sangka UTP sejauh itu... kitorang sampai kat sana pukul 10.10... nasib baik state kat program 9.30 until 10.00 adalah time for minum pagi...so adalah buffer and the students arrive happy coz they're well fed

the session went well...after all, they came in on a Saturday, it was raining outside which is very cosy to just sleep in... ada yang siap pakai tie lagi... when I introduced myself and mentioned that I've work for about 6 years now... almost the whole lecture hall gasp in unison... haha.. later I learned from my friend that some of them were speculating my age to be around 25-26... (I think it's the magic of the new blouse that I'm wearing)..

we finished about 10 past 1, then lunch... made a move to Ipoh around 2pm... seriously, it took almost an hour to get there.... for someone who used to have a megamall 5 minutes away from where I studied... kesian la pulak dengan budak-budak ni... gi Ipoh tu saja je... sebab my dearest friend tak pernah sampai Ipoh...makan kat Ipoh Parade, then blah

on the way tu, dah take note dah mula-mula kena isi minyak... but then we got into a heated debate about Malaysian politics and the next thing I knew was I saw the fuel indicator already blinking and we're in the middle of the highway...the next R&R yang ada fuel station pulak lagi 30km...terus tutup aircond, tapi yg bodohnye time bukak tingkap tak perasan pulak ada lori sampah kat depan...sangat semerbak baunya ok!

last-last, masuk exit Rawang dan nasib baik petrol station dia dekat je... fuhhh... am so tired at that time, I don't need another misadventure

then, kitorang hantar the other girl ke Bangi... pastu singgah makan satay nearby... didn't know it's pasar malam day... so merasa la traffic jam teruk... bak kata TC "you should purposely drive in the bad traffic for training purposes"...wise guy (?)

sampai "rumah" around 9pm... except for the dark Twin Towers...macam tak earth hour je kat sini... mandi-mandi then tido time tengah tengok cerekarama...

and it's Sunday... gotta go get ready. nak gi facial.... muka dah macam kulit buaya... bye

The holiday was good. Simple lazy holiday....kalau tak pegi pantai, lepak kat swimming pool sahaja....self indulgent gilerrr.....and I get to eat tomyam and mango sticky rice everyday....nyum nyum...and self pampering at the various massage huts...heaven...

saya sangat busy raya ni...sangat busy sampai lupa nak bergambar....tahun ni saya rajin menolong ibu di dapur....masak 2 dish...rendang daging and udang sambal lagi u.....so, takde idea nak update apa ok....

baju raya buat kat my usual tailor in Brunei....sangat selesa dipakai....dan nampak kemas dan kurusss....hahaha, penting itu...

baju yang ditempah di Miri dua minggu sebelum raya hari tu....the dress yang dia buat I suka...tapi baju ni kurengg...tak berapa selesa, and nampak gemsss....of course, tudung ekspress itu turut menyumbang kepada kebulatan...tapi baju fesyen macam zuma dia buat cantik dan nampak kurrrssss....

ok, itu je nak update....

of my sis' wedding and being a clown

Just a few short notes:

1. Am so happy that the wedding is finally over. Mom & Dad had been preparing for it for months now and everything went relatively smoothly.

2. Had little sleep over the last few days. Finally can sleep some more since I will be on leave until Tuesday.

3. Even though I can sleep now, but I still woke up at 3am....partly because I have the whole big room to myself (Zue, ko tau kan bilik aku tu besar mana) and partly because I need to 'berak'.

4. The dress that I made for the wedding is a bit too big....dah suruh my tailor alter, but because of the limited time, didn't manage to do it properly.

5. I had to wake up early and send my sister to the bridal saloon for makeup, so I decided to had my makeup there as well.....I ended up looking like a clown. Muka aku ni dahla merah, diletaknya blusher pink.....aghhhh kat mana ko belajar mekap mak andam oii......I wanted to wash off as I came to the house....but the khatam qur'an already about to start and guests started to come and I had to run errands, etc...seriously tak sempat....dahlah gincu kaler pink magenta letak kat bibir aku in full glossiness.... aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! after aku dah lap-lap pun...I still look like a fool. But it didn't stop me from enjoying the day though....it's my sister's day after all, it's not about me...I need to take a break from being a diva after all......

but of course, that doesn't stop me from thinking I look horrible in the pictures.....benci benci benci....here's some snippets...the ones where I wore the peach scarf, is when I do my own face (which is nothing much), but I think it looks much better than the clown that I was made into.

OK. I finished downloading my personal frustration. Will blog about the wedding later, on a much happier note, after I got over the shock and humiliation of looking at my photos. The fact that I didn't have the time to go shopping for a new scarf for my dress didn't help either. OK. End of post. Layan the pics.

First weekend in Miri setelah sekian lama went really well...

- went out with friends on Friday nite and discovered that Pizza Hut ada pizza yg sangat sedap
- pegi breakfast kat SM setelah few months teringin nak makan kat sana but always bangun lambat atau takde teman (kali ni tekad drive sorang-sorang menempuh hujan ribut...thanks Encik F sebab sanggup berhujan untuk datang)
- catch up with my ex-housemate dan baby yang sangat adorable
- roaming aimlessly with Miss E - a thing that we haven't done for quite a while
- finish one whole book (which is not compilation of short stories/facts/anecdotes) - gonna write the book review later
- watched a DVD that I bought a few months ago
- get a much needed facial supaya muka saya berseri-seri sikit time reunion nanti
- hunting for the reunion dress for the whole day (we don't have the luxury of having a lot of choices in Miri) - thanks to Nono and Nuna for the support and critiques...I must have tried almost 20 different dresses and parade it in front of them...dah lama tak keluar window shopping sampai sakit kaki, kan?

so.......since I've bought the dress, these are the few things that still need to be crossed out:

1. knee-length boots sebab betis bunting nagaku ini sangat tak sesuai pakai legging sahaja

2. kalau tak nak pakai boots tu, then maybe pantyhose and wear it with a 4" gladiator sandals yang aritu nampak kat Bintang (RM lagi)

3. clip-on earrings yang tak nampak macam clip-on earrings....takutla nak tindik telinga

4. bangles yang bling-bling

5. rantai / choker - just in case kalau ternampak yg lagi menarik than the ones I already have

6. bling-bling scarf - the one that I have now agak licin ....takut tertanggal pulak

7. sesuatu to make my tummy flatter - hik hik

8. a black turtle neck shirt

9. kastenet  ;P

kalau ada sesiapa nak taja atau nak kasi pinjam, you are most welcome...

invitation card arrived today! very the girlish with pink ribbons and diamonds on a silver bling-bling card....hehehehe....excited nak jumpa budak-budak perempuan hingusan yang sekolah kat Jalan Kolam Ayer tu dulu....

Friday, 14th Ramadan: Makan lalapan empal kat Muara 2 Restoran kat depan rumah...makan ramai-ramai dgn Puan K, Cik E dan Cik F. Lepas tu hantar Cik F pegi airport & went chocolate hunting dengan Cik E. Banyak jugak aku spend malam tu on bakery ingredients & Ambi Pur stuffs.

Saturday, 15th Ramadan: Hari buat biskut dengan Cik Ae. After sahur terus start. Then terbongkang sekejap sambil baju dibasuh oleh washing machine. Keluar pergi beli mangkuk tingkat edisi khas oleh Tupperware (hehehe, mari beli beramai-ramai...cantik, kaler hijau kuning, sesuai dibawa ke rumah mak mertua di pagi Syawal, isk isk, sebak sebab bakal mak mertua pun belum ada...huhu)...then singgah beli air sekejap untuk dibawa ke rumah Encik R. Hari ni buka puasa kat rumah Encik R sebab lepas Maghrib, we're going to start preparing the food for sahur anak-anak yatim. Encik R buat ayam masak lemak cili api yang sangat lah sedapnya...belum campur lauk-lauk lain tu dan kuih muih yang dibawa oleh rakan-rakan. Lepas makan, kerahan tenaga until 2 am. Siap masak, hantar kat rumah anak yatim then kitorang melepak until sahur. Events pada hari ini telah menyebabkan gambar-gambar gumukku ditag dengan girangnya di facebook. Kalau aku untag semua, kang nanti kecik ati pulak.

Sunday, 16th Ramadan: Tidur membuta sampai 1.30 tengahari (actually bangun sebentar pukul 9.30). Then, siap-siap for iftar with Encik R dan rakan-rakan di Dynasty. Gambar masa ni I tak kisah masuk facebook (sebab saya rasa saya comel)...huhu....I didn't really stuff myself pun...just there sebab dah janji since di awal Ramadan lagi, to have a good time and to nibble different kind of food...lepas tu, ambik Cik F kat airport dan lepak kat Secret Recipe...(tiba² rasa nak makan benda manis, masa kat hotel tadi tak teringin pulak)...Mr Geek pun datang jugak...minum susu je...

Monday, 17th Ramadan: Saya teringin nak makan spaghetti buatan sendiri...so saya balik tepat pukul 4 dan sedia untuk memasak...nasib baik bahan-bahan dah ada so tak payah singgah kedai lagi. Puan K dan Puan S join sekali sebab lepas tu diorang nak tengok saya buat kek lapis untuk Puan K. Start dalam pukul 7.45pm and finished about 4 1/2 hours later....belum masuk sesi mengemas dapur dan membasuh tu. Puan S siap boleh masak nasi goreng lagi lepas tu sebab lapar. Alhamdulillah, hasilnya...I'm RM70 richer and have 2 dark circles underneath my eyes..

Tuesday, 18th Ramadan: Tekak saya mengidam McD lagi sebab hari tu tak dapat. Masuk minggu ni dah lebih sebulan saya punya rancangan nak makan McD tak kesampaian. Hari ni jugak tak kesampaian sebab TC the geek ikut sekali....don't know what kind of paradigm shift has gotten into him but he's not taking McD (luckily pizza still boleh), cutting down on soft drinks and eating VEGE!! So, since line kat McD tu panjang giler, and TC plan nak minum orange juice je...saya yang puasa ni kesianla pulak dengan dia yang tak puasa...masa tu Mr A ada sekali and he's a big fan of Sushi King. So, ke Sushi King la kami untuk berbuka...however, before we left, I sempat tapau cheeseburger (single, bukan double) supaya tak kempunan. :(

Wednesday, 19th Ramadan: It's 090909, spatutnya hari ini hari perkahwinan saya (dalam anganan saya jela tapi)....since anganan tak jadi kenyataan, so I'm treating it like any normal day. Buka puasa pun kat Cahaya Taufik je..yang penuh ngan budak-budak Curtin yang poyo dan membuat saya teringat zaman student saya yang poyo jugak. Then balik buat taik mata sebab dah berapa hari tak cukup tido. Pagi tadi, after sahur tengok cerita Pensil kat Astro Citra. Besh.

Thursday, 20th Ramadan: Hari ni company buat majlis berbuka puasa. So, saya nak makan free supaya boleh jimat duit. Hehehehe.


P/S: and I wonder la why my berat tak turun dengan banyak bulan puasa kali ni....mengapa ya?

Sungkei diaries Part II

hmmm....hari ni dah hari ke13 umat Islam berpuasa...aritu saya cerita sampai part buka puasa ari Sabtu lepas...ini kisah bosan yang selanjutnya...

Ahad, 9th Ramadan: saya tengok mak saya beli ikan bilis yang nampak sangat sedap. Jadi, saya mintak mak saya masakkan nasi lemak. Sedap dimakan bersama ayam goreng.

Isnin, 10th Ramadan: hari ni, kena ikut selera my dad pulak...kalau tak, derhaka...so, kitorang makan dalca daging lawan ngan ikan masin dan lauk-lauk lain. Kawan saya, Puan S bawakkan otak-otak dari Johor.

Selasa, 11th Ramadan: kembali ke Miri .berbuka puasa dengan TC (yang memang tak puasa) di Pizza Hut. We ordered splitzza since our tastes are different. Hawaiian Supreme and Royal Masala. Sempat lagi kutuk my choice..."The only place where pineapples should be is either in drinks, jam or tarts."

Rabu, 12th Ramadan: Iftar bersama-sama anak yatim. Kenikmatan nasi beriani restoran kegemaran kitorang dan ice cream Cornetto dinikmati bersama.

Khamis, 13th Ramadan: pukul 3 petang dah keluar dari ofis....my cubicle mates ingatkan I pegi toilet...tapi my handbag I simpan kat tempat orang lain...semua pasal nak tolong Cik F masakkan nasi kerabu kegemaran saya...ngeeeee....sekarang semuanya dah hampir siap dan the other girls pun dah sampai...so I resign dan lepak sambil memblog sementara menunggu waktu berbuka (37 minit lagi)...

tu jela.....jangan meleleh air liur, saya nak makan nasi kerabu!

kisah sungkei (breaking of fast)

5th day of puasa...let's recount what I had for sungkei this past few days...this is also some sort of food diary for ramadhan

1st Ramadhan --> went for a 13 hours shopping trip in Brunei with 3 of my girlfriends....can't believe they filled out the huge space at the back of my D-Max plus we had to put additional shopping bags in the car as well...the initial plan is to break our fast in Excapade Sushi in KB, arrive there around 6pm, order the food and by 6.36pm, we can already eat...however, my preggie friend got excited with the "SALES" banner at Mothercare and we spent almost an hour there...so, my buka puasa was mango juice in a can, which I had in the car 5 minutes before we reached Seria (about 12km from KB). I drove really fast on a hungry stomach, hehehe. So, we had sungkei in Kaizen Sushi instead. Syukur Alhamdulillah, there's an empty table for us, and the other diners start flocking in around 7pm, so we get our food quite fast. I like Kaizen better than Excapade though....dua-dua pun sedap, butKaizen's portion is more manageable...

2nd Ramadhan --> flat out from the trip, post sahur slept until 11am...then kena kemas rumah/sapu lantai/mop lantai....luckily my friend, Miss E invited me to her house for makan...went to pasar ramadan before that, so I makan lontong with the lauk (prawns, sotong) and salad that Miss E and Miss FF prepared.

3rd Ramadhan --> unplanned pot luck in my house; I prepared begedil daging, Miss FF brought stir fried broccoli, Mrs KN brought 'mi keju' and Mrs S brought sugarcane drink (my Ramadhan favorite) with some cucur. I was out of my breath eating (which rarely happen), and could only finished 90% of my portion. My friends ok je....maybe I drank too much (did I mention air tebu is my favorite for Ramadan?)

4th Ramadhan --> I read Mrs Z's blog and had this craving for 'terubok bakar'.....after MSNing my regular friends to come over my place for sungkei, I rushed to the pasar ramadan near the indoor stadium, it's a bit far off from my house (which also has a pasar ramadan nearby), but for my 'mengada-ngada ness', I pegi jugak kat sana. Bought jellyfish 'umai' (a Melanau delicacy) as well. Sampai rumah, it's past 5.30 and I still need to prepare midin belacan + telur dadar + nasi. Alas, when friends started to arrive at 6.20, I am still cooking. Miss E made delicious banana & orange smoothies, which made a good starter for the meal. And the fish was nice!

5th Ramadhan --> My friend said he's going to cook nasi briyani with meatballs today and he'll let me tapau.....let's see if this will materialise...otherwise, I'll have midin again. (did I tell you, I was so late coming back home yesterday, I only managed to prepare 70% of the midin that I bought?)
